In the late 1920s, the Zoo only had a staff of about 30 people, most of which gathered for this rare staff photo. After a couple of incidents when keepers had trouble getting to the Zoo from their homes in bad weather or at night, Dr. Harry had a couple of dwellings built on the Zoo grounds so that keepers could be close at hand. Thus, there were families that lived at the Zoo!
