In 2011, some new neighbors moved in next door to the the giant pandas—not that the bears noticed much, but the Barlin-Kahn Family Panda Trek exhibits gave Zoo visitors some amazing and beautiful species to discover in addition to the pandas. Sichuan takins, red pandas, and Mang Mountain vipers all share the same mountain bamboo-forest habitat as the giant panda, and give additional depth to experiencing China’s wildlife.
