Integration 2017 - 2026

A challenging construction project came to a fruition at the Zoo in July 2017, when the Jim and Dianne Bashor Bridge officially opened for visitors. In an ongoing effort to improve visitor accessibility on grounds, the bridge was built to span the canyon at the heart of the 100-acre Zoo. It connects Benchley Plaza in Lost Forest to the Fossil Portal of Elephant Odyssey, and allows guests to travel around the Zoo more easily and in far less time. It has also become a focal point for many of the Zoo’s events, including HalGLOWeen and Jungle Bells!
