As ComicCon got underway in July, SDZG ventured into new territory, partnering with DC Entertainment to create a comic book focusing on saving species from extinction. DC Entertainment launched the brand-new, limited-edition comic book, Vixen and the Justice League: Wildlife Heroes, in San Diego during ComicCon, and visitors who came to the San Diego Zoo on July 16, 17, or 18 received their own free copy. In Wildlife Heroes, Vixen and the Justice League must come to the rescue of imperiled wildlife around the globe, and Vixen must battle villainous forces and dangerous poachers. It was an exciting and new way to get the word out about the importance of conservation!
