A Growing Initiative

In 2019, the Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) granted accreditation to San Diego Zoo Global for its gardens at the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and the plant conservation work they support at the San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research. The certification recognized the beauty and diversity of the curated plant collections, as well as the efforts San Diego Zoo Global contributes to preserving plant species. It was an honor to be accredited alongside notable gardens around the world that are saving endangered plants for the future.
