Two siamang island exhibits on either side of the wooden walkway leading to the new orangutan exhibits featured a matrix of poles with heavy-duty rope strung like vines, to provide the acrobatic primates with opportunities to show off their impressive swinging displays. Water-filled moats surrounded the islands and appeared to mingle with the moat surrounding the orangutan exhibits, although they were separate filtered and recirculated systems.
