Found wandering in Alaska without a mother, two Alaskan Peninsula brown bear cubs were rescued by the Alaska Fish and Game Department and given to the San Diego Zoo in 1985. The brother and sister were named Spanky and Sheena, and after a month quarantine period, the two rambunctious cubs met their adoring public. With all the energy of two growing bear cubs, they chased each other, wrestled, jumped in and out of the pool, climbed, and ate their fruit, eggs, fish, and bear biscuits with gusto. The only time they seemed to be still was nap time—and that never lasted for long!
