Dr. Donald Lindburg, head of the behavior division of the Center for Reproduction of Endangered Species (CRES) and head of the Giant Panda Conservation and Research Program, says hello to Mei Sheng, the second panda cub born at the San Diego Zoo. Don began his career with CRES in 1979, and he led teams studying behavior and reproduction solutions for several endangered species, particularly lion-tailed macaques, cheetahs, and giant pandas. He was also instrumental in working with colleagues in China to bring giant pandas to the San Diego Zoo for the first 12-year conservation research loan.
