A new exhibit in the Children's Zoo introduced small humans to the smallest primate: the pygmy marmoset. A pair of the Zoo's 10 pygmy marmosets moved into the new exhibit, which was filled with branches for climbing, running, and perching and contained live plants and artificial gum feeders the monkeys extracted sap from with their sharp incisor teeth. The pair reproduced and started their own troop, and visitors were able to watch the interesting behavior of the father taking on most of the childcare and carrying the youngsters on his back.
