Because Blanca had been hand raised and was used to people, she was friendly and affectionate with the keepers at the Zoo from the start, nuzzling against them and playing with her toys in the Children's Zoo nursery, even "chuffing" to visitors at the glass window. But she was still very much a tiger, and she outgrew that cub stage quickly. Audiences loved seeing her in the Animal Chit-Chat Show, but she could be a handful for the trainers sometimes! When she made the move to Tiger River, it was a new experience for her—she was tentative and wary at first. But soon she got the hang of having her "territory" to survey. She still had a playful side, though, bounding up and down the hillside and splashing noisily in the pool.
