A New Upgrade for Old Residents

Some of the San Diego Zoo’s Galápagos tortoises had been around since 1928, and their exhibit had seen many changes over the years. But in 2010, San Diego Zoo Global board president Tom Fetter and his family wanted to provide the ever-popular giants with a major remodel to their habitat. The Fetters gave funding for a luxurious new pool, new plantings, new soil and wallows, and extra touches that the wrinkly reptiles would appreciate, making it just the right home for the herd.
