New homes for two of the most endangered cat species in the world opened at the Zoo in 2015: the new Asian Leopard habitat for Amur leopards and snow leopards. Built to allow the cats to use their natural, and spectacular, abilities of leaping and climbing and their preference for being up high to survey their territory, the exhibits take full advantage of vertical space and provide “catwalks” that give the cats a view—as they prowl across the walkways right over visitors’ heads!
